A BILL to amend article ten, chapter five of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
by adding thereto a new section, designated section
fifteen-b, relating to providing retirement credit for
members of the national guard.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article ten, chapter five of the code of West Virginia,
one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by
adding thereto a new section, designated section fifteen-b, to
read as follows:
ARTICLE 10. WEST VIRGINIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT ACT.
§5-10-15b. Service credit for national guard personnel.
Any member of the retirement system who serves in the
national guard shall receive service credit for time actually served in the national guard up to five years.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide retirement
service credit to national guard personnel, up to five years for
time actually served as a national guard member.
